Meet "QUEEN MONA"... my version of the famous "Mona Lisa" painted by the great Leonardo Da Vinci.

I have always found her to be such an intriguing and mysterious character, and I had such a fun time creating this unique piece of art.

This is a mixed media painting, using bits of random paper and fabric, combined with acrylic paints. The canvas has lots of texture and little details throughout, and has a distressed and aged finished look. The banner above Queen Mona's portrait has a secret message handwritten across that you have to study to find the words which read: "Oh Love, you are a Mystery". The crown that adorns her head is hand stitched with metallic gold embroidery thread which adds another dimension to the painting.

The sides of canvas are framed with a stained foil that's been mounted around outside of canvas frame with rusted nails. Ready to hang.
